Ms. Emily Laing
(She/Her/Hers)
Compassion, presence, and curiosity are the foundation of Emily’s therapeutic approach. She supports individuals wanting to explore a deeper understanding of their emotional world, inner capacity, and patterns of coping. Emily is drawn to working with clients navigating challenges that may involve anxiety, depression, low self-worth, grief and loss, identity-related concerns, stress, burnout, and life transitions — with or without a formal diagnosis. Her style of counselling is trauma-informed, affirming, client-centred, and grounded in lived experience.
Emily values connection, humour, and collaboration as powerful avenues for growth. At times, humour naturally arises in the process and can create room for insight, relief, and perspective. She focuses on meeting clients where they are while drawing on evidence-based methods, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and polyvagal and somatically informed approaches.
Emily finds great meaning in this work and continues to deepen her understanding through ongoing learning and professional development.
